Long time riders 01/22/2019

Bought this "side by side" 17 years ago for my disabled son and I to ride in our neighborhood. This is his best form of independence,to go ride with dad on nice days.He can"t have a car,but this is the next best thing for him.We still ride nearly every day,it"s still his favorite thing to do,and this thing is nearly indestructible. After 17 years people are surprised that it"s not new, when I tell them how long we"ve had it.We got the three speed, the top, armrests, and red of course. It still has the original chains and has needed very little repair work. I"m 74 now and recently we added an electric kit to it to make sure the "old man" could always make it back home.We have so many positive comments when we ride, people stop us and ask"where can I get one of those".We ride mostly on the sidewalk and on paved bike trails, and on reasonably level areas. The three speed is a necessity if one person like myself might need to do most of the pedaling sometimes.17 Years! How many cars have I gone thru

I wish I had boughten the dual tricycle with 3 speeds. Is there a way to upgrade this in the future. I think that the website should make an extra effort to share that the single speed bike is difficult to get going if only one person is of physical strength and the other is essentially going for the ride/exercise.
also I made a special effort to co-ordinate the shipping of the bike and it was just shipped regardless, thankfully my husband was on the property to accept the delivery.
Otherwise I am excited to use the product

The Trike is Great! The only problem we have found is the fact that to steering wheel handle bars are in the center. This makes it difficult for the driver to handle. Since the passenger in this case is developmentally delayed, he cannot help "drive", even though he would really like to, it would be better if a way could be found to off set the handle bars in some way.
The Trike is BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you so much for thinking of the handicapped in this way.

For those situations where the right side rider may have difficulty controlling pedals, we offer a new option called the N21 Freewheel option, shown in the option list. This is the upgrade to add a freewheel sprocket to a SBST on the right side axle. We install the fixed drive sprocket and freewheel sprocket, but the short chain is hooked up only to the freewheel. When you backpedal on that side, the pedals simply go backwards and does not apply a coaster brake. This is very helpful in special needs applications when a RIDER would accidentally or unintentionally hit the coaster brake by pedaling backwards. The Captain then would control all braking functions and the passenger would pedal when they can and position the pedals where needed for greatest efficiency, but NOT apply a brake. If at some point in the future you wish to activate the coaster brake, all parts are there to do so and convert back to the standard function. SEE OPTION N21 in the options list to choose this configuration.
